Obviously basketball and the Looney Tunes will be the cornerstones of the new Space Jam movie. However, this story that will star LeBron James will also try to play a bit with the audience and with the excuse of the “Metaverse”, it will invite viewers to browse and find references to other Warner Bros. properties.
In that sense, while previous previews for Space Jam: A New Legacy movie had brought out Looney Tunes and explained the story with LeBron James’ son, now a new trailer for the film featured several references that will be part of this story.
In Space Jam: A New Legacy, “Superstar LeBron James and his youngest son, Dom, are trapped in digital space by a rogue AI. To get home safely, LeBron teams up with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang for a high-stakes basketball game against the digitized champions of the AI court: an enhanced formation called Goon Squad ”.
This film was directed by Malcolm D. Lee and, in addition to LeBron James, will feature Don Cheadle as the evil AI and Zendaya as the voice of Lola Bunny, among others.
The premiere of Space Jam: A New Legacy is set for July 16 in available theaters and HBO Max in the United States.
